Client: Ippodo Gallery

Located in the heart of Tribeca, the new home of Ippodo Gallery was conceived as a quiet and precise framework for art, reflection, and discovery. Working closely with the gallery team and director Shoko Aono, the design embraces principles of thoughtful Japanese minimalism while responding to the historic industrial character of the neighborhood. Carefully orchestrated light, restrained materiality, and subtle spatial transitions create an atmosphere that is both serene and dynamic. Refined wood surfaces, raw concrete textures, and understated metal details establish a sense of warmth and clarity, allowing the gallery’s artisanal and contemporary works to remain at the forefront of the experience. Completed under an accelerated timeline ahead of the gallery’s public opening, the project supports Ippodo Gallery’s continued role as a leading voice within New York’s contemporary art community.
