Client: A private tech company

Team: with Diller Scofidio + Renfro

Scope: 300,000 S.F. Historical Pier Renovation

A Hudson River pier building is being transformed by a $380,000,000 redesign project into a new mixed-use destination that includes performance, workspace, retail, arts and entertainment, public park, a seated 400-seat concert hall, and marketplace with shops and cafés. Originally designed by American architect and civil engineer Emil Praeger in the early 1950s, Pier 57 was the largest dock ever built by the City of New York. The result is the establishment of the pier as a future-facing enterprise that will be home to one of the world’s leading technology companies.

The open component of the development will consist of a rooftop park with an outdoor cinema and waterfront promenades that will host Tribeca Enterprises who will use the 80,000 sf rooftop park for their annual Tribeca Film Festival.

Location: New York City
