Scope: 4,000 S.F. + Water Reclaimation + Solar Collection

Education is a process of conveying what is possible, then encouraging and giving time for discovery. It is deliberate and hopeful, grounded in the desire that all may grow and flourish.

The Sailing Pavilion will be a multi-purpose community, event, education, and office space focused on the world of sailing. Sustainability is achieved through the large roof and structure, providing ample space for water collection, solar arrays, and generous shade below. The structure and finishes of the design will be based off of Mass Timber solutions and cross-laminated timber (CLT) members. The building will serve as a safe, enriching, and inclusive place providing an opportunity for residents and visitors to enjoy the water.

The program accommodates approximately 400 youths from ages 5-18 in attendance each summer and 75 sailors in the year-round program. The program also supports High School teams in sailing and racing locally and nationally.

The design intent is to create a vessel for learning and outreach as fundamentally well suited for the task as the sailboat itself is for sailing.
