The city of Los Angeles is one of complex diversities that have over time been subjected to decades of micro-regionalism and segregation. Today the city is in disrepair due it its un-unified fractions. The competition asked teams to find a way to bridge the segmented city and initiate growth and progression to a unified future in an urban design and a financially feasible strategy that revives Los Angeles’s downtown corridor. Creating rootedness in the cultural diversity of Los Angeles.

As explorer Juan Crespi discovered some two hundred years ago, the fertile banks of a river able to sustain a future settlement. Today it is seen as a future greenway, to act as a nursery for the continued growth of green spaces throughout the city, a system that restores a better harmony of nature with humanity.
